Rice Krispies Immunity Claim
In 2007, Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal claimed to help boost your child's immunity. It claimed to boost vitamins a, b, c and e to 25% of the recommended daily value from 10%. This claim was stated at the height of the swine flu, which could have made them want to take advantage of the time. All health claims have to get FDA approval but this claim did not have to get this approval because it is supposedly a structure-function claim. This was not backed by scientific evidence which in turn caused it to be very misleading.
